A legacy of hospitality, baked from scratch

Since 1920, The Drake Hotel has been a cornerstone of Chicago's Gold Coast. Our Executive Lounge has been the soul of that legacy — a place where the aroma of freshly baked sourdough greets guests at dawn, and where afternoon tea is still served on fine china.

Every croissant is laminated by hand. Every loaf is fermented slowly. We believe that true luxury isn't about excess — it's about craft, patience, and the quiet pride of doing something well.

The sourdough here is unlike anything else in Chicago. I drive past three other bakeries just to stop here on my way to work. The crust, the crumb — it's perfection.

I host all my client meetings here. The atmosphere is effortlessly elegant, the coffee is excellent, and the pastries make such a memorable impression. It's become my office away from the office.

Visiting Chicago and my hotel recommended the Executive Lounge. Best breakfast I've had all trip — the almond croissant alone was worth the flight. I'll be back next year.
